I wan't to change my setup, Subwoofers

Hi, I have a 12" Alpine type s in a vented Bassworks box( pretty big ) driven by a Pioneer GM-7100M (RMS Power at 2 Ohms = 360 W x 1 RMS Power at 4 Ohms = 250 W x 1). head unit : pinoeer DEH-P7700MP

I'm listening to Punk Rock, Death Metal, Metal, Hard-rock and a little bit of Dr. D.R.E amd Cypress Hill.
I find my bass not tight enough and not fast enought to hadle my music preferences.

Do you think that two 8" subwoofer in a sealed box will do the job?
Should I use two SVC 4" sub to get the 360w at 2 ohms of my amp
What brand and model of subs should I go for?

Sry for my english

your type s is not getting enough power which is most likely why it is not tight enough. You are also goiong to want to scrap the bassworx box and get a properly tuned box for your sub. The twelve if powered properly will kill two 8's.

I'm not a fan of the ported boxes myself, (probably just havent heard a good one yet) so I sealed mine and find the bass much less "rumbly". My Bassworx box had 2 slotted ports and was tuned to 38hz. I used heavy plastic as a liner and then used that expanding foam spray insulation to fill up the ports inside the box, and about halfway full from the top on the outside of the box.

I like the sound much better but you will be needing more power to overcome the resistance of the air on the back of the sub. Well, according to Infinitys documentation anyway.

Cheaper than buying a new box!

here are my three options
1. I keep my type s and put it in a sealed box ( what size? )
2. I buy a CDTaudio EF-100 - 10'' - 250wrms - svc 4ohm in a sealed box and sell my type s and the ported box
3. I buy 2 CDTaudio EF-8CF - 8'' - 200wrms - svc 4ohm in a sealed box and use my 360rms at 2ohms from my amp and sell my type s and the ported box

What would you do????
Thanks

How about, you just do the right thing. Properly ported box ( small size ) and not worry about it anymore.

I agree with this asfar as GET A GOOD BOX!

however the notion that 1 12" type S will rule over 2 8's I disagree I would put up 2 DD1508 subs to one them ANYDAY!

But dude build or have a proper box built for your sub. A box and properly powering your sub will make such a huge difference

1508s aren't cheap, you could buy a pair of type R 12s for the price you would pay for the 1508s.

LOL that depends on who u r!!!!

not to mention there was no specification to which 8's was just stating a fact.... but u are right depending on who u are u could get a pair of type r
