IASCA World Finals Result (sort of!!)
Hi guys! I'm new to the forum....
Just thought I would put a few cents in...
I was a rookie at the world finals 601+ and gave alex a run for his trophy! lol! It was fun and am definitely doing this again...I was glad I went. I don't know how many canucks usually go, but there seemed to be quite a few that went, and most of them got trophies of some calibre or another!

Hey all,
To confirm the romours floating around
LOL...
My install was indeed on the cover of the IASCA world finals program, it was the same picture that appeared in the Car Sound and Performance feature of last years world finals. Look at all the exposure ARC Audio is getting
LOL.
I was indeed rear-ended on the way down to finals. Naomi (my girlfriend) and I were travelling southbound in Dayton Ohio where we slowed down and stopped on the highway due to heavy lunch-hour traffic. A ford focus decided that it did not want to stop and as it was rear-ending us I made a mad attempt at getting out of the way. Unfortunately, the focus still managed to clip the driver side area of my bumper and destroy its front end with both of its air-bags going off. All occupants of both vehicles were thankfully okay. After being thoroughly investigated by London Honda, only my bumper needs to be replaced and thankfully Ohio has maintained fault insurance so the ford focus driver was charged with following too closely and thus I am not at fault for the bumper and the replacement will be free
On a bright note, my car placed 1st in the Tuner Jam Import Street Plus class despite the bumper barely hanging on. Pretty tough competition class so I'm definately happy with the results.
My car also placed third in the Street Smart 1 - 600 class separated from the top spot by 5 points (of a possible 382) and second place by two points. Not a shabby finish as we were damn close. Some interesting point allocations, but hey, it's IASCA and it's subjective so it's all good.
In regards to finals as a whole:
- Competition was great, with some really high end cars competing.
- Fewer competitors than last year, but the die-hards were there. Some of which came out with new vehicles - i.e. Scott Buwalda's Altima.
- VERY POOR spectator attendance, I was talking with the guys in the Stinger booth and they were really upset that they had to spend their weekend there with nobody in attendance.
- POOR manufacturer turn out with only ARC Audio, JBL, Focal, Stinger, Memphis, Sony, JL Audio, Bat Cap, Streetglow and several magazine publishers having significant booths. (I may have missed a one or two).
- Few local tuner cars I don't think there were absolutely ANY local sound Q competitors.
- The venue - cook convention center was located 1 block south of "da ghetto" where one competitor had his car broken into and vandalized (couldn't remove his amps due to security screws).
- The streets were filthy and pretty damn scary to walk on at night, memphis definately wasn't what I expected.
- All in all it was a good experience, got to meet a lot of great people and had some fun. Unfortunately, I would definately not go back if finals was to be held in Memphis again - entirely too sketchy a city.
