High end:
ZAPCO
CDT Audio
Diamond Audio
JL Audio

Not too many people in the GTA sell zapco, CDT, or Diamond audio. And JL is for the kids who come in with daddy's credit card. LOL.

Mid end:
Alpine
MTX
Kicker
Rockford Fosgate
BASSWORX

Popular brands amung today's society. People are always talking about type r's, L5's,5500's, and P3's. BASSWORX is in there because of the amount of people willing to buy prefab enclosures when they purchase their woofer.

Low end:
Alpine (there base line products)
Rockford Fosgate (the base line products)
Pioneer (the base line products)

Most popular 'bang for buck' models are amongst these companies and they are 'mainstream' whcih keeps the buyer happy

only well known brands that have good customer and dealer support. Most have high, mid, and low end model lines. I'd make sure I had or had quick acess to all their products, and I'd try to keep at least one model from each level on display. Nothing irritates me more than going into a shop and being told that we don't carry that model. As for the brands specifically; Alpine, Eclipse, RF, Kicker, JL, Pioneer, JBL, Infinity, and maybe one or two esoteric brands like Focal, Morel, and Audison. The specialty stuff is nice for boards full of enthusiasts, but I want to make money...and if the average customer has never heard of it...it's hard to sell them something at 2x the price. That said, you adjust with your customer's demands, and if there is demand for a certain product or line...you try to get it.

Not necesarilly, you just have to realize that you will not make as much margin on these brands.

For example if a customer comes to your shop looking for MTX you can try switching/selling him what you have and if you are a good sales paerson and the brand you are trying to sell is decent you will be able to do this a certain percentage of the time. Now if the customer has it in his mind he wants MTX ( for whatever reason, his buddy has it etc) and you don't have it to sell him he will walk and buy it from someone that does.

The days of a store/shop carrying all exclusive brands and having success, for the most part, are over.

Many succesfull shops I see have a mainstream brand like Rockford, MTX, JL etc and then will have another brand that might not be in the box stores and use that brand as their push line.
