Does this include linking to a site that has pertinent tech info on it. Say for example one of my customers from here on the site needs some grounding info or wants to further research myself for example before they purchase from me. Do you have an issue with me recommending to them, by PM only, as to where to find this information? As I am a tech member on a number of sites, I have many articles written there, perhaps we can bring them here in the future, but could that not also be construed as taking another sites tech articles even though the author is the same. I have no issues with any site wanting to use my articles and perhaps we can start to build a tech section here to aid this sites traffic.

That is poaching. CCA is no here to help others build their own forums, we are the forum.

There is no problem with linking to informative pages.

But, when i see a user say

"JOIN TODAY AT XXXXXXFORUM.COM " (he gets a warning)

next post

"learn how to build a box today and wireyour car here [links to XXXXXXFORUM.COM"

poaching. see where im going with this. The people being banned have been pushing the limits of free access. Spamming other members to leave here, spam posts with the full intention of doing damage to our site.

I stand behind my rules and decisions. Ask Tim. Theyve tried to buy their way back on the forum, numerous times. HE WILL NEVER BE BACK! When i ban you, youre banned, vendor or not, but especially when trying to damage the brand and the board.

I do NOT support sites that are competitive to CCA. I know they exist, but spammng is not tolerated.

People get carried away so easily by minor things...

Let me present you the problem at hand.

Competition is an evil thing. You see when I was at Sema last year the event organizers ganged up on a few offshore manufacturers that were selling hks blow off valves. Naturally they were knockoffs. We all knew, because they were selling them for $20/pc if you bought enough. Anyways we were setting up and the officials came around and asked them to remove the products from display. They were infringing on the rights of HKS who have put tons of money in r & d into the product. Now they passed that anti-counterfitting law, which is supposed to help things.

The idea behind this is that we are protecting our interests by having these measures in place, we do this, because we have interest in the success of this forum and not in the success of the forum of others.

I quote Bubba, who unfortunately is no longer with us I don't think...He made Platinum today...

1. He is saying it is stupid to have another forum name banned yet they bash CCA on their forum.

2. Incidentally the other forum is just starting out with barely no members, pure coincidence.

3. He mentions "we're trying to steal members" implying he is technically deeply involved with the other forum.

4. He mentions termpro, which is an already established and respected site that we happen to like very much. We value the information and experience as well as event coverage on termpro. It is a professional site that is respectable.

5. It seems Bubba is almost as upset that termpro is not being censored as he is upset that his forum is censored.

6. He is upset that we're protective of our member base. What he forgets is that there was a certain financial contribution made to Wade in order to put us in this position. A contribution, which could have been raised by the "Platinum" members of this forum, if they cared. But as long as they could do as they wished they had no intention of ever spending a penny ensuring their future on CCA.

We respect sites which are long established and offer valid and relevant information to members. It is vital that you understand this point. After all it is one of the main priorities of our forums to increase member satisfaction. This does not mean that their name should be spammed all over our forums, which is exactly why Bubba is no longer with us. You see there is a difference between making a reference to a technical post on another forum and saying "hey i'm over here now, come join me!"

We do not tolerate startups that prey on our member base in order to ensure their success. That will result in automatic removal.

"Platinum" members are upset things are not going so well for them. Quite honestly I think we try to be fair on this site. Most people we deal with are grown men and we expect them to behave accordingly. However when they use petty tactics to try to get past us it is very disappointing. They are clearly underestimating our level of expertise and involvement in forums and the internet. You see Rick is very experienced when it comes to forums (LOL) and I am sure I can get into my e-thug mode if provoked.

So I state again. Please see it our way and we'll get along just fine.

we are passionate about car audio...and many a time have i argued with mods on this forum...and basically it was about posting my pic of my car or audio as an avatar. i could never see eye to eye with the mods on this one. because is saw that having "canadian" , "car" , " audio" in the title...should at least have a pic of thier cars or thier audio for avatars. hey we were almost all canadians.

but you really are taking cca in a direction that most cannot go...and others are heading in a direction that cca cannot follow. thats ok. freedom of choice is great. for you and for others like bubba and tim.

but there was a time that cca catered to everyone...and it had good folk and bad folk...but it had folk. and you could get an opinion on everthing from sliced bread to racism, from pyramid to alpine. but when guys would get pissed off they would go to other sites and later see that it was better here...it was better...back then....it is different now...you can't argue fight and leave and then come back...right? and that is harsh for some...there are about 15 sites of forums that were made exactly because of this cycle....and those sites have no new posts since 2004. cause in the end they all came back to cca. and this was where they knew that the best installers were....the best splers were....the best sqers were. and the best comeptittors were.. the best canadian promoters were....the greatest rectectable guys like MOE and ALMA were on here...and guys like mcvay, jeff fronk and ray choy and so on...the industries top were....and the ugliest part is that they aren't anymore nor asd often. and there is a reason for that.

new members are good......legends are awesome. i think that you have a great strong hold on your site...and it is your decision that will show its longevity. and we will all look back on these times as where it turned for the better....or it didnt come back

I've been on this board a long time.. kind of why I don't want to give it up I guess but its getting boring, some good guys are gone now, some really smart guys are gone. For all the other things you can say about them they know there audio and contributed to this board in that manner.

I can't even display my new project because I might lose the rights to the photos and won't be able to get them back like my very good buddy did.

What i fear most about this is sooner or later people start getting caught in the crossfire. I can live with my rules.
