*shrug* Could be... But wouldn't they have to be .5 ohm stable by themselves then? Although I guess they could be, I've never tried.

I did hook up .7 ohm to each amp with my APX... and they worked all the harder for it. Using my H2 sub at one ohm and hooking up an inductive amp clamp to the amp's power cable, they draw about 110 amps each, playing a pure tone at full tilt. Do it with the APX at .7, and they draw about 145 amps each. Which is odd too, as they're fused at 120 (three 40 amp ATO's in each), but it didn't pop any fuses.

Oh, and yes, the owner's manuals say not to hook up a load less than 2 ohms to a bridged set of amps. Which really is dumb, as then there's no point in bridging them at all...

But, I have my sub hooked up to them at one ohm often, for comps and for music, never had any problems. They get toasty warm when workin' them hard, although I have a fan on them. Never had them go into protection, never ever ever never.

OK, thanks for the info on that, now here is a new question, if my amp is stable to 1 ohm, am I able ot run a theoretical configuration of 3 10" SVC 4ohm which would produce an impedance of 1.34 ohm?

Well, the higher the ohms the higher the dampening factor of the amplifer and therefore the better SQ.

Grizz, you are correct... running a 1ohm load to a pair of bridged amps is akin to running each amp at .5ohms.....

this could very well be the reason why running each amp at 2ohms sounds better..... running an amp below rated nominal load can often result in less clean power.....
