Incompatible USB
I purchased a Toshiba External Hard Drive and connected it to the USB port on my Pioneer Deck. I am getting an Incompatible USB error. The connection at the hard drive is USB 3.0 the connection at the USB port is 2.0.
Thanks for your help solving this |
a lot of decks can not power an external hard drive.

Most decks can power external USB drives, this is very uncommon. Also, USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with all older formats. If you use a 3.0 device with a legacy usb, it will just mean that you won't be able to use the full speed of the 3.0 standard.
This type of error usually means your not using the correct format for the hard drive. Check the manual to see if the deck supports fat 12, fat 32, or ntfs. Also take a look at the limitations on the file structure. Format your drive to the correct file system. |
