these subs sound pretty nice when i listen to them at future shop...are they really decent subs? they are rated at 300rms a piece...how true are infinity's rms ratings? would a pair of these in a bandpass box pound nice and clean but hard if i crank it loud?

iv heard some bad about infinity subs...what do yall have to say about em?

Very nice subs, I have installed them in systems getting as much as 350 Wrms with no problems. Put them in ported boxes and you will be very happy. Haven't tried them in bandpass, but bandpass sucks.

Nice subs. I agree with DWWW, go ported.

lol..shows how much of a newb i am...i thought bandpass = ported! LOL!!

but yea, i was gonna go ported for sure. i was planning on buying the subs privately as i know someone who has a pair for cheap. future shop sells ported boxes built to spec for those subs, so wont be too hard to find a decent box

does built to spec make THAT much of a difference?

how much better sound am i going to get between a ported box thats close to spec, one that just fits in my trunk, and a ported box built to spec?

Bigmike216 09-11-2004 05:33 PM

close to spec is fairly important. If it's not close to where it should be, it's either going to sound boomy, handle no power before bottoming out, or not go low enough.

damn

those boxes they sell at future shop are SO goddamn expensive.

where is a good place to buy good boxes for good deals? know of any?

Bigmike216 09-11-2004 06:45 PM

DIY ;) Or, get a friend to help you do it.

I'm running an older Infinity Reference (1230 I think ) I have 300 running to it in an sealed box. When builing the box we ran with the spec supplied and love the result. Can't say what they will do on a band pass. I do recomend the line. and ya stay close to spec. I'd say the maufacture has done more work with the then say you or I
