I have an alarm, the standard 2 button Audiovox one from Crappy Tire...a few years old now...is at all possible to have a remote starter hooked into the alarm so that the second button on my remote can start my car?

If your car is an automatic and the second button is an aux then yes you can, but...... the range on the starter will only be as far as the Audiovox remote will transmit (20-40ft)sort of defeats the purpose of getting a starter. Also you will have to disarm you alarm everytime you want it to start or your shock sensor will set your alarm off and if you have starter disable well .... it will disable the starter. If your car is a standard its still possible but all of the above applies but also you have to do the "set up" every time you leave the car. This never seems to work well on seperate units. I would suggest you look for a unit that is a alarm/starter combo. You will have less problems and far greater range 1000ft+.

The Vipers integrate with aftermarket alarms the best in my experience due to the ignition wire they contain. Unfortunately your alarm remote has a range of what? 50 feet. Might as well start the car with the key at that point.

I would do what DWVW stated. Use a DEI 551 or 561 remote start that will integrade to your alarm system.

Only thing I would do differnt is I would no run it of your alarm remote cause you will have no range. Use the one that comes with the starter and you will be fine.
