installing job in ont=Hard
 

Well i don't know if this is the right spot but im going to post it here anyway as im just lost for words.

Well im just shocked at how hard it is to get a job in this career.Every monday i check FS-BB to see if they have any installing openings out my way and of course zero.

I have a great nice and small FS thats maybe 35-40 min away i would love to work at.But when i asked they said i had to apply on line,so i filled all that stuff out and nothing.So went back in and they said they weren't looking for anyone.

Out of all Oshawa/Whitby/Ajax nothing

even have gone to some small shops that i know and nothing

I really would rather not drive 1:30 mins one way to go to a place that im only going to get like 8.00-10.00 if they even came up.Not saying $10 isit fine,but i need to know im not going to be fired in a week cause they can't pay the bills etc.

I guess im not looking somewhere,as theres always people getting RS's installed(which i missed out on) to full blown systems.So i know its not dieing anything soon.

I guess thats why the US is looking for people like crazy

Does anyone have and insight to this to finding a installing job in Eastern ont to central.(any leads)

Im not ashamed at all to postng this as i've waiting long enough to get my papers and can't even use them now.

ever thought about starting your own buisness?
fs/bb and some of the mom and pop shops charge way too much for installs. why not offer people a cheaper alternative? advertise yourself as an independant installer, charge less than the big guys and if you do good work,you might have a booming buisness on your hands

it is not that easy

yea if the bank will give a loan start something on your own cuz i always go to the little guy before i walk into a big box store

The money is there as well

but i need the experience in working in a real shop before i can open up one and to know the cars in and out.Don't want to waste that money and fail 3 months later as i did to many things wrong,to much money to loose my friend,if i didn't care i would use it to buy Porsch Cayanne turbo or something.But i have a dream and can't see that money going down the drain like that.

I still do work on the side as i have my papers and have fixed other shops/peoples mistakes.

Sounds to me like if you have your papers you should know your way around the cars and you shouldn't seem so nervious to work on them either. That may have something to do with why you haven't been hired. I wouldn't hire you if you don't trust yourself because it seems as though you'd be happy wasting my money to learn which is where your papers should have got you. I know everyone makes mistakes but you really don't sound confident in your abilities. If you've already fixed installs that were done poorly you can't be that bad so have confidence and start out small. If you know someone going to fs/bb/or a mom&pop place offer them a disounted install price to earn their business and they'll come back as well as tell friends. You gotta crawl before you walk!

Well i do have confidents,but i've never worked on BMW's,Jags all those sorts of high end brands if they were to come in.

Plus its kind of hard for them to know if im nervous when i haven't even gotten a interview yet.For me to tell what i mean about learning the in and outs of a car.

What,wire them 5 wire,just get some relays and some resistors

these are the type of question i get and then have to fix there work cause they said they know what they were doing

setting up your own business is super risky you have to also think about what happens if the the roof in my garage falls on this car am i insured? if i break this do i have the money to replace it . bla bla bla

sucks there are no jobs come out to b.c im sure you could get one in two minutes

or alberta, could use more quality installers here

Yeah theres always that,but i already tryed the hole BC thing and came home didn't work out
