Well it looks like all the leads i had all came up dead in the end which is a real shame.Really thought i had the one job but never got that call back like i was hopeing even after i was told i would and the full time postion was taken even before i went for the interview that i didn't know till the end of the interview.

I guess i'll keep my head up and keep on looking

I know I’m bringing this back from the dead from almost 4 months ago. But I have yet to still get a job as a installer at FS,BB with full papers. The offer I had like I said fell through and I even know the head installer from my uncle at that location(not saying where).

I've even keeped in touch with the big Guru,thats in charge of the District Install Coordinator- for Eastern Canada. Same guy that gave me the interview.

I know someone in here told him about my case and that’s why he signed up and gave me that offer by him only having 3-4 posts still. I thank you very much for doing that who ever you are.

I just hope that I don't come up looking like a stalker with all these emails I’m sending back and forth,Im just someone that doesn't give up that’s all.

All I read on here is people saying all they hire are 17 year olds that don't know 8 Gauge from 4 Gauge. Well that might be in BC but here in Ont its not that easy.

That MD **** is a bunch of Crap to get you in Door telling you about all these jobs that out there.have talk to a hand full of people that went there and didn't get a job yet.

I have even spoken to Dereck Lee acuple times and he said just wait it out and see what happens,I'll help you out

 

MD worked for me I had a Job within a week of leaving the school and have been employed for 6yrs now problem is in ontario the Government Cert is what will get you a job not MECP. Future Shop will pay for their installers to get the MECP if they have to as long as they are goventment cert thats all that matters.

May I ask what your talking about by goventment cert???,I know you need a silly paper now saying you have passed a Gov test to install a RS.But thats it I thought.

I have my Bronze and Silver MECP papers and plan to get this paper in the future.I have no problems with working on ign systems,but people like to see papers now.

Like I've said when I open in Nov if I don't get a job at FS,BB buy sept.If I have a kid that wants to install and has a Bronze paper im giving him a chance.

 

The AEAT (Automotive Electronic Accesory Technition) is a certification that is needed to work on the electrical systems in cars period not just starters and alarms you must have this ticket if you are charging customers for an installation weather its a deck in a tempo or a GPS tracking system with remote starter in a 07 benz.

MECP means squat in Canada its a U.S. certifiaction program all its good for is getting your foot in the door.

AEAT requires 4000 apprenticeship hours which is 2yrs full time working under a licenced tech and there is a college program in place as well. This is a restricted trade which means if you are caught installing electronics for money into customers car you can be fined as well as jailed if you can not provide this licence also if you employer knows your not certified they can also be fined and have the shop closed.

I have already reported a few shops for this and will keep reporting them cause if I have to take the time and spend the $$$ to get the licence there is no way I'm going to let some un-certified installer try to take my buisness.

Oh and go tell a mechanic the A class certifiaction which they need is a silly peice of paper.
