I want to get two JL Audio 12W3V3-2ohms or 12W3V3-4 ohms........which would be better??????? They are both rated at 500 watts RMS. And what kind of amp should i get for these subs?????
I would suggest getting the dual 4 ohm subwoofers this gives you the option to run at 1 ohm and allows you to run a 1 ohm stable amplfier for best performance I suggest something around 1000 rms at 1 ohm
So would the JX1000/1D- JL Audio Monoblock 1000W RMS Class D Amplifier on Amazon be ok????...Or would you recommend something else???
from what the website says that amp is 1000 rms at 2 ohm which would be ok if you had dual 2 ohm subs
So your talking about the 12W3V2-D4 300 watt RMS not the 12W3V3-4 500 watt RMS??
in order for you to run 2 ohm you need a dual 2 ohm subwoofer , if the amp produces 1000 watts rms at 2 ohm then that would be ideal , otherwise look for a 1000 rms at 1 ohm
if you can get 2 of these 12W3V3-2ohms that would give you 2 ohm which would produce 1000 rms at 2 with that jl amp so that would be fine
Ok thanks
Do those hit harder than 12W3V3-4 ohm???
if you have the space I would recomend 2 subs instead of 1 , otherwise 1 sub in a nice ported box would be ok to , it really depends on what your intentions are some people still want to maintain space , so with 1 sub they are able to get the best of both , but if space isnt an issue I would go with 2 subs !
