Installing new system, but what about the tweeters?
 
Hey people, soon i'll be installing a new deck and speakers. I've done it before but this time I have tweeters to worry about. If i'm buying quality 6.5inchers, should I even bother with getting tweeters? And if i am to install new tweeters since the factory ones suck, will they only suck some of the power out of front speakers? Whats your opinion on this? Will getting them make things sound that much better? Get em, or forget em?

Oh and one more not so important question. Some guy at futureshop told me that I should also change my factory wiring. He wasn't clear as to why and i've never bothered doing this before. Is there a point in doing this as well?

sounds like you're adding a deck, co-axial 6.5's, and possibly tweeters. If that's the case, then your oem wiring is fine. If you're adding amps, subs, etc... you may want to look at the whole set up as a system and maybe go a diiferent route with the front speakers, wiring, etc...Depending on what you want, component separates almost always out perform co-axials (in the same brand/model range), so you may want to get a component set instead of co-ax's and extra tweeters.

The tweets are a good idea you will find the music lacking a lot of stuff without the higher frequencies.. no cymbals at all, everything sounds bass heavy, electric guitars will have no bite, half the trumpets sound will be missing, vocals will sound like everyone has a cold... think AM radio.
Tweeters should draw a minimal amount of power (10% or so) and most are limited to a max power input of 10 watts or so.
Run with 'Mr2nr' (if your from Boston thats 'mista tunah')
