Insurance HELP!!!

So visions quoted my old stereo at being worth 4800 dollars. now the insurance company wants me to come in and "talk about the claim" the problem is one set of my previous subs were bought by my x and lets just say she doesnt like me to much anymore and does not have the reciepts. wtf should i do. I do have my Pay pal reciepts for one sub one amp, cap, and my wiring kit, and my head unit. but do not for the second sub and amp. She paid for one set of sub amp and box. i paid for other

and as for my other pieces like my sat radio, mp3 player i cant find reciepts same with when i bought the crappy pre build ported boxes wtf should i do. i can only imagine how much they are gonna try to screw me around any pointers on how i should deal with this like i have pieces of my mp3 player and sat radio like the spare battery and a charger, but have no proof for the boxes since i bought them from visions but cant find reciepts i can find , im pretty sure where the mp3 and sat radio were bought on visa statements,

I also think they are gonna screw me around since i bought all this stereo off of the internet at Wholesale prices right.

any help would be great guys, i just dont wanna get screwed and any personal experiences would be great? or pointers on how to approach the insurance company i have to go in and talk with them on wednesday

sorry about punctuation as well just typing this out really fast.

This post is for others because I hope they are reading the thread: TAKE PICTURES. They help a great deal.

Before anyone accuses me of talking out my a**, my basement was flooded last (this past) Spring. Sump pump failure (an expensive Rigid) My claim is over 50k.

They have refinished my basement (say 1500 SQ ft), carpentry, drywall, deep pile carpet, paint, SOME furniture and SOME electronics, but boy oh boy, did pics ever help.

I could go on & on, but this man is looking for advice, not anecdotes. Sorry for jacking the thread a bit.

thats great advise john_taylor! i usually keep a copy (pics) on cd in my safe, but never thought to go take pics of whats in the truck.. something else to do this weekend!

fyi rayman, you are going to get screwed either way (depreciated value). for the extra stuff your ex got ya. you may just have to suc it up, grow some balls and go talk to her. thats not to say you dont have balls by the way. just saying grow bigger ones and go do what needs to be done! anything baught with credit should not be a problem. if you dont have your copy of your credit card bill you can always request one. as for everything you dont have a reciept for it will most likley be a loss. keep in mind you need to prove to them what it is that was stolen, they dont have to prove shxxt.
they cant tell you where you can shop (online). almost everyone i know shops online these days.
