All of Don's parts came from Desitjl also.
Inhuman = HC = LSX.... (roughly... please don't start a huge flame on me here).
The fact that Don stopped making his woofers almost sent me into shock since mine just arrived a few short weeks ago, however, most of the beyond subs can be reconed with the same coils and cones and spiders that RE uses.
I am pretty confident that Destijl makes a decent product.
RE however does have some sort of explaining to do on this one. I would be pretty concerned if I owned an RE HC right now.

I am very determined to maintain our less than 1% defect ratio, and if that means it takes 6 months longer to go to market (or even longer), we would rather do that than ship product that isn't 100%. Thank you.

Well I am sure that your warranty with RE will still be valid if one of these "defective" subs fail.
Besides, I am sure that RE tested the subs that used the supposed "defective" parts before they started shipping anyways.
I am sure that we will never know the behind closed doors talk on what exactly was "defective", but if we did, I am sure 99% of us would not think it is a big deal.

But unless the "defect" is purely cosmetic's of the magnet (Onyx shows a polished magnet), why is something good enough for RE, but not Onyx?
Is Onyx's Quality Control better then RE's? Is Onyx more concerned about customer satisfaction then RE? Is Onyx more concerned about quality then RE?
Interesting questions..

Also, even if RE tested the "defective" parts and deemed them okay to sell, that would make them refurbished, and therefore should be marketed as such and sold at a considerable discount.
Bottom line is they are ripping their customers off!
If RE has been up front and honest with their customers (as they stated in previous posts) then why is everyone so surprised? They should have at the very least sent a letter with each sub sold telling the customers what they were getting for their hard earned money.
One last thing...when you go to an outlet store and buy name brand items at a DISCOUNTED price they list why they are discounted AND what the "DEFECT" is. RE clearly is not doing the same.
