JBL Comps?
JBL Comps?
Just wondering if anyone has used these, heard of them, or can reccommend something better.

Pre-2011 Hertz MLK2, 2-Way Components (MLCX2, ML1600, ML280). Unfortunately I can not comment on the new models for 2011 other than to say the tweeter is cheaper, not tuneable (no swappable rear chambers) and uses a much cheaper x-over than the pre-2011 kit (which uses the big-*** plexi-glass top boxes that rival some amps in size).
For around the same money as the JBL's you listed above, you can get the cheaper Hertz MLK165 2-way components (MLCX-20, ML165, ML28). This setup is currently rated as #1 on CAmag.com against other 6.5" 2-way kits in the same price range ($500-$800-ish).

I own the MLK165 kit and the MLK2 kit. For anyone who thinks the MLK165 kit is the cat's-*** should have a listen to the MLK2 setup, as it blows the MLK165 setup out of the water completely......and then some.
....of course, I am biased, as I am an Elettromedia

Polk SR6500's are a great choice. If you want to save some cash try out the Boston Acoustics Pro's (give them plenty of power to really make them shine).
Also worth a note are the new PPI PowerClass comps.
