JL 1000/1 caps falling off electronics... JL experts?
 

Stranges thing... taking my amp out for the winter and I hear a rattling inside... open it up and fine the caps have fallen off. Anyone heard of this? Is it a problem? Weird thing is 4 caps inside and 5 missing... Looked everywhere and cant find the 5th. Any ideas experts?

That is too funny. From the pics, the caps still look nice and flat on top, so I'd say maybe the cap top covers where made a little too large and just popped off due to heat. Caps look fine, so as long as the amps running good, I wouldn't worry about it. Many caps don't even have covers on top.

no harm... the temperature transients must have had their way with them though. Odd that any stayed on, possibly a bad lot and if the bin is bad (with out of tolerance caps) then you will be hearing this a lot from other JL owners.

The caps for the caps is cosmetic.
