Currently I have a JL 10W0 powerwedge powered at 220 W RMS.

I have an option to buy a used Alpine Type R 10" 1021D Dual voice Coil.

I want a little more "thud" in my bass. I could also switch to an AMP which can deliver 300 W RMS at 4 OHM with lowpass at 80HZ. But I also noticed that Alpine lists the specs with (2Ohm + 2 Ohm). My final option is to just run 300 W RMS to the JL sub, but that is in the "danger" area for that sub according to JL

Any idea if I'd get more bass and what are your opinions?

you gotta give that type R atleast 300 rms to make it thump at all. 300 rms to a W0 is risky, I gave mine 250 rms and it looked like the cone was gonna fly out of the box.....but it still stayed intact so I guess maybe those w0's might be able to handle that kind of power...

I assume the 10W0 is 4 ohm right?

Type-R = much better driver ...

I'd even take the Type-S over the W0 ... Not that the W0 is bad ... Having owned both, I feel the Type-S is better overall ...

Thwey're both semi ok, but better out there for the price.
