JL 12W3 vs 12" Punch HX2 DVC (future shop rockfords)

what would you guys do...
the JL 12W3's i can get for approx $275/sub
and the HX2 i can get for approx $200/sub..

what would you say would make the best noise in a 2003 explorer xlt?

I am thinking that the JL is going to give you far superior sound quality. But the Rockford is going to be louder!

I heard the 12" HX2 Punch at Visions not too long ago, in a slot ported box it was pretty impressive. But I have had 8W3's and 10W3's and liked them both too.....

Ive got 2 12" punch hx2's very impressive 400 watts each.

the old W3s were louder then the punch HX2s are...I would guess that the new ones are probobly the same or better then the old ones are. I would take the W3s any day...better SQ and better SPL for only a bit more money

Get the rockford HX2's!!!!!!!!!!!
Im running two lightning audio VC2 12's and these are essentially the exact same sub. They get very loud and sound pretty decent with low tunning.
They are cheaper too. Hands down rockford

I have owned HX2 12's in the past, and W3 12's in the past. And from my experience with both drivers.I can say that the W3 will be much more Punchier than the Hx2's, and have a quicker response as well. The 12 W3's Sealed the most I could send them was 550RMS each...b4 I heard a bit of poping out of em as well.

The HX2's on the other hand.........will be a bit louder, and will be able to reproduce low frequencies a lot better!!
Hx2's can handle the same amount of power as the JL W3 can as well...........around 550RMS.

Hope this helps.

I have a JL 10W3 v2 right now. Its a terrific sub. Hits low notes for a 10 in a small sealed box, quick response and good power handling.

I've not yet heard the HX2's.. but a beefier sub, probably better for SPL.
