JL 500/1 ?
I know every system is set differently, but I have an Alpine 9835 head unit running and a JL 500/1 running 2 12" rockford p2's. The sound quality is good, but i have to crank the volume up full to get any sort of bass. It will sound nice and loud when i paked but as soon as i get on the road you can barely hear it, even with the windows up and everything. Any Ideas? is it as simple as adjusting the boost on the amp? Sorry if i sound ignorant, but i really am when it comes to car stereos lol.
Thanks in adavnace.

Whats youre bass output on the alpine set at? I have mine set a +10,
People say the output on the alpine deck needs to be @ 15 to put out the claimed 4 volts.
I run my 9815 @ +10 and set the gain from there.
Try putting youre sub level to +10-+12 ,turn the vol up to youre max listening level and ajust youre gain to were you want it,Back off a bit if you hear any distortion.

I have the sub level at 12 already. When the car is at idle it sounds loud, but as soon as i start driving it is alot quieter. Is it possilbe that not enough power is getting through as the battery can't charge fast enough? I have the JL 500/1 and JL E4300 running off the batter
