What? I've owned Perfects in the past, they really aren't all that impressive...

Rockney 11-05-2004 03:20 PM

Well i Havn't heard the perfects...

but i have heard a single 10w7 in a JL HO box and it was impressive, so impressive that my next woofer will be the 13w7 to replace my pair of 12's W3's

I am looking in SQ in priority. But still want some good impact.

I don't like loose and boomy bass. I like to hear my mids too! So accuracy and musicality is very important.

I know that the best thing to do will be hearing both subs in my car (or should I say future car as I will change in a couple of months). But even with a lot of shop here in Montreal, it's seem very difficult to find demo that I can place and try and my car's trunk.

As for this two choices, it's because of the highs praised reviews on both products for SQ. I can also consider Eclipse 8XXX series.

Thanks anyway to all the members who bring their opinions.

For SQ, the Perfect is, as stated earlier, IMO, several tiers down from the W7. Want impact and clarity without taking up mass amounts of room? Look into the usual suspects out there, Brahma, Koda, XXX, IDMax, etc etc *yawn* You get the idea. Don't limit yourself to an inferior driver, although with a 31 band EQ and good midbass (and crossover points), it really becomes the most overthought out part of most peoples systems.

^ I find your bashing of Infinity while suggesting some of those others amusing.

The Infinity is a fine driver. If one can nab an 8W7 for the same bux though, I would.

10" Adire Brahama would be prefect for your set up, small box and just as good as a w7 for half the price.

Thanks rahim for the suggestion but the Brahma 10 need a lot more power than the 8W7 and it is not half the price of the JL.

I can get a good deal for the 8W7 in the ProWedge enclosure for about $520.00 (tax included).

I still have the time to change my mind but I think I will take the 8W7.

As priorities goes, I will choose my future car in consideration of my sound system!

At start,my wife and me were considering the Mazda 3 (discard because I will be stocked with the stock radio), Nissan Sentra Spec V (my wife does not really like it), Hyundai Sonata GLX (my wife really love it) and finaly the Subaru Impreza.I told my wife tonight that I want to buy the Subaru Impreza Wagon. She replied to me: Why?
So I replied: Because the bass will sound much cleaner this way! She rolled her eyes and said: Whatever!

Soooo...8W7 here I come!!!

MMMMM...at least I buy a 10W7 !?!? Oh no! It's never finish!!!

lappy, when/if you get the 8W7, can you post up how you like it and if you would recommend it. I'm considering going for one of those, but don't anybody who owns one. I know the 10W7 was quite impressive, but I don't know how different the 8" is gonna sound. Also, how much power do you plan on feeding the sub?

Thanks.

Lappy - dash kits for the Mazda3 are either out now or will be soon. I'd take a Mazda3 Sport wagon over the Impreza Wagon in a heartbeat.
