JL Audio.
I appreciate any input on this post.
I have a GMC Sierra single cab truck and am looking at buying 4 JL speakers, two for the doors, two for right beside my ears. I also have two CVT Kicker 12s. To power this I am looking at a new JL amp which is 4 channel and is about 1/3 the size of a normal amp and I believe is around 1500 watts or so. Would this be a good setup? Should I replace the Kicker 12s with JL subs? |
It sounds to me like you worship JL, so you might as well go all the way.
Have fun. |
Don't worship, I just get deals on their product at work. I am kinda new at this.

Why not try a vendor on the forum like myself. Do you work at a audio shop or just know of a shop that gives you a deal? JL is some fine gear but there are a whole world of other avenues to explore that might suit your needs better.

A good deal on a good product is a good thing!
Some people believe that keeping with one name brand will give a better looking theme. |
I work at an audio store with JL being their main company for car audio.
Would the JL speakers drown the lower end Kicker subs I have? They are not L7s just CVTs. |
Only way for that to happen is if you are drastically overpowering the main speakers. Throw up a link to the amp.

MR2NR: I looked all over for that amp but I couldn't. It's tiny though, you can hide it anywhere and it retails for a thousand or so. My question is who makes the best subs, I see you only live a province away. Maybe we could work something out?

that should be fine. leave the kicker sub. if you want more bass later you can always swap it out.

Yulis got a point. I agree. I personally hate the jl speakers but love there subwoofer line! you should deffinatly check out different speakers first, your best bet is to try them out everyones ears are different. Im not saying jl speakers are , i personally have found better ones.
