i have a kenwood dnx 9960
focal k2p
jl audio 300/4
jl 500/1
and the choice of 2 pairs of subs
alpine type r 12
hertz hx300
my box is a fiberglass tub in the spare tire around 2.6 cubic ft for 2 drivers
do i go with the type r and alpine pdx or alpine pdx with hertz subs or the jl amps with the type r please let me know what you think

Do the research on that alpine amp. I wanted to pick that up as well when they came out because of all the technology it was providing, supposedly a JL killer but since then, I've heard otherwise from enthusiasts that it just never lived up to the hype (some issues) - again, read up on it, that's all.

Is this sealed? Choose the sub that has the best response for your build, nevermind the name brand. They're all good equipment, but I think that's really the least of your problems. You need something that's going to work nice in a sealed application (assuming) and whatever you want out of it ...

I'd say JL or Hertz sub, just for the hell of it ... no reason though, just to be different.

I mention box because I was comparing boxes for my Sundown 12" sealed vs. a Kicker 12" sealed and there's a big difference, even though both are relatively the same in power.
