whats the diffrence between the L.O.C and the line out converter, I want to keep the stock look of my deck and have the functunality of it as well, for now I just want to add 2 12's in my hatchback mazda, and an amp. nothing else

It's much more expensive then a lock and does much more, it conpensates for the built in EQ level controls that are volume dependant in the stock deck. I suggest you go on the JL website and just read, they explain what it does quite well. I believe they have a few models of it.

it also costs about 5 times more than a cheap after market deck. you need an aftermarket deck, the stock decks are garbage.

if you cant afford a cheap deck u wont be able to afford the Clean Sweep.

LOC is outter garbage, people that use them need to kill themselves. if you are gonna get LOC you might as well not get a stereo period.

dont go buying subs and amp if u dont have an aftermarket deck. always start from the deck first.

The first thing you want to do is to find out if your factory radio has bass roll-off from factory, so if when you turn your deck up the bass will slowly get quieter, its the factories way of stopping people from blowing up there speakers. If it dose then a RE-Q is a great option for around $150. if it doesn’t any good high to low level will work great, infact most amps have a good one built on to it. Most factory radios have good out put and usually look better in the vehicle. And in lots of newer vehicles with factory Bluetooth, nav, and steering wheel controls, who wants to take out a perfectly good deck. The only reason I would say you want to change out the factory deck is if you want better connectivity like iPod control, better Bluetooth, better nav, or better aftermarket processors and for the processors Audison has come out with a great option for adding on to factory amplified and eqd systems its called a bitone but it goes for around $1000. Keep your factory deck if you want itll work just fine

Unless you plan on getting a interface adaptor that allows you to CONTROL the sub level, then don't even consider one. A proper interface adaptor does a number of things. It interfaces into the factory system and provides a preamp level output. It sets levels, it may have a line driver in it, some provide multiple preouts for system expansion, some have subwoofer level controls, some have built in crossovers, some have built in aux inputs, some have built in equalization correction (really handy for those crappy Bose based systems). No matter what way you look at this, to spend the $ on a interface adaptor is a great idea IF you really want to keep the stock look. IF the goal was to save $, you are shooting yourself in the foot.

Dumping in a pair of woofers only - use whatever you want. use the one built into the amp even.

IF you are amping the highs or your deck has the bass rolloff, then you need a better LOC like the RE-Q. I suggest the RE-Q5 since it has crossovers, sub output control, line input, etc. Nice piece.

i dont get why everyone wants sub control once youve set up your system properly you should never have to adjust the sub in a system, do you adjust the sub every time you put a different cd in your home system? i highly doubt it, so why is it so important, if you want to distort the quality of what the orriginal artist put on the cd. go to a bar do you think the dj changes the sub control and adjusts everthing for every song. they adjust the volume because some tracks are recorded at a lower level than others and thats it. now if you want crossover control on your mids and dont want to amp them, put a deck into if but otherwise amps have great crossovers
