jukebox on wheels

ok to those that have massive collections of music at their finger tips (1000+) songs, how are you doing it?

myself its with a dual layer dvd, only major draw back is I need to burn a new disc everytime I add more music but at least the disc's aren't exspensive

I"ve tried using the USB jack on the head unit but it sucks, starts playing from the beginning everytime the car is started

If your deck has an ipod or mp3 player hookup you could have tons of songs on

I've tried hooking up my 20GB mp3 player, its not that great cause the mp3 player has to stay powered up to maintain the last place where I left off when the vehical is shut off. I could hide the mp3 player in the center armrest but then it has two wires, one running to the deck to plug into the USB and the other to the 12v outlet. I like keeping things clean looking so this is a negative.
Dual layer DVD is the best thing I have come up with, only thing better in my mind is a internal file storage in the deck of 8GB or better.

That's why I love pioneer decks, CB-IB100II (or CB-IB100) make life hella easy.

Id say its closer to 1250, because you can get 250 songs a gig.

I have my ipod hooked directly up to my amp since i dont have an actual cd deck installed yet. It works pretty good the only problem is that i need to make an ipod mount, and its too cold to work on vehicles outside

ipod 60 gig with Alpine deck to control it...one wire, hidden in armrest, and I have not used a cd in months...6000 songs on it now. The only way to truly access all of them is to make appropriate playlists...80's r&b, 70's rock, etc...and by letters, songs starting with a, b, c, etc...I have to say as far as I'm concerned, it's the best of everything. No more floors filled with cd's, no more damaged cd's, always have "that" song when I want it, the 60 gig allows me to store at very high quality rates...320kbs vbr to wav for some demo type songs, very little to see for prying eyes, I can keep my eyes on the road with the use of playlists and remote, ipod can be updated whenever I want and playlists created even on the fly ("on-the-go" playlist), my entire library of music with me everywhere!! I can't imagine going back now.Technology rocks!!!
