So putting together a new system and searching for a decent headunit to complete my setup.

I'm looking for a basic single-DIN headunit that has 3 sets of 4V RCA's and USB/ipod.
Built-in EQ maybe as well, and HP/LPF for sure.
Don't want/need graphic displays or any of that nonsense.
Price = ~$200

Probably better off getting something older..Suggestions?

 

that is the way to go. I have one in my rig and I love it!!!
I think it is a kdc 494, has high/lowpass and sub built in and an e.q.
The feature I love is the usb port for a memory stick with music so no more cd's with a chance of being stolen!!

Yeah, you know what, out of all new decks, I like the Pioneer DEH series.
I may just get one of them too!

 

The DEH line is nice, i was gonna go for that but i picked up an older alpine, CDE 9881, IIRC, has 3 sets of preamps, not 4v though... i would still look for one a few years older, when i was searching for a nice head unit i couldent find any current ones i really liked, style wise and performance.

 

I'm happy with my Clarion CZ-501 has 3 preouts 4v.

 

Any of the Kenwood Excelon series will fit the bill. The KDC-X396 will run around $150 and the KDC-X496 will be about $200

 

Wow, the newer Sony decks believe it or not are pretty impressive as well.
