Just ordered a new Amp.

I have 3 old school JL Audio W6 10" speakers in a sealed box that is wired to run 1 ohm in 1 channel, that I recently bought. I had a 1000Watt 2 channel Kenwood amp hooked to them but I was not satisfied with the results, I unhooked the Kenwood amp and hooked them up to my Sound Ordnance M4100 amp that I run my mids off, I bridged it and ran it off of just one of the channels. The Sound Ordnance made the speakers hit alot harder and it is only 270watts RMS bridged. What is up with Kenwood? Is there amps really that over rated? I know I am way underpowered for the subs so today I ordered a PA-1500 - Nakamichi 1200 Watt RMS Mono Digital Bass 1 Ohm Amplifier with Remote. Hopefully this will push the JL's like they are made to be pushed. Has anyone on here had experience with this amp? I am on a budget and didnt want to spend over $350, I got it for $250.

Are you sure they are wired to 1 ohm? or 4 or 9 ohms?

When you bridge that amp, it should only run a 4 ohm final load.

Where is your gain and crossover set at on the PA-1500 ?

The old school JL Audio W6's were a 6 ohm speaker, they are wired to run 1 ohm. I havnt got the pa-1500 yet, I ordered it yesterday.

I know both my Sound Ordnance and Kenwood amps are not 1 ohm stable, the Sound Ordnance is a 4 channel amp tha is 4x100 watts RMS at 4 ohms, it bridges to 2x270 watt at 2 ohms. My Kenwood amp is a KAC-X520, it is a 2 channel amp that runs 125 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms, or 500 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms in bridged mode, it is supposed to have a 1000 watt max output. The Kenwood comes nowhere close to that, like I said my Sound Ordnance blows it away, and has cleaner sound. I have two Kenwood amps, not impressed with either one, I had one running my mids, that is what caused me to try the Sound Ordnance amp, much cleaner power out of the S.O.

Those subs are rated 300 watts "rms", hence, your total rms is 900 watts, so yes, an amp that does rated 1000 watts rms @ 1 ohm would do the job. Don't pay attention to max wattage.

Thanks. I was thinking this amp would do the trick.
