I randomly found this link for a JVC deck,
anyone own this or know how good they are, I want to see a comparison between this the Alpine 9887 and the Pionner p700

I'm not familiar with that particular deck, but in general, I have had 3 JVC decks over the years, and I have loved every one of them, very reliable.

^ Define better?
Get the one that has the features you want.

Quality build? Quality software? Quality sound?
These are three VERY diverse decks that we're looking at. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. I sell JVC & Pioneer. I was thinking about selling Alpine. The upper end of any of these names are all good. JVC just teamed up with Kenwood for a better, cheaper product line.
What do you want your deck to do for you? The 9887 is great for tweaking. The P700 has so many features in a video deck. The JVC fits in small spaces (great for security) has many features and terrific price point.
You could shop at Best Buy, try each one at a time and return it when you're done playing. Then you could make an informed decision. At that point, go to your local car audio shop and ask for the one that you want. F^ck BB!!!

tru, i dont buy retail anyways, their prices are garbage! Iam looking for my deck to play good sound quality, iam getting the top of the line mb quart component speakers and I need a deck that can actually fullfill the potential of these speakers, otherwise its just money wasted, I also need something for good bass setting, i have no clue what this would be even called, I like deep loud bass so iam looking for a deck that can inhance the potential of my pionner subs, their rated at 400W rms each in a prefab box, good build quality is a must as well, i dont want a deck thats gonna break after a year , the only thing i would change in my system is the subs to DD twin 12s in a year or two
btw i see u have the p800, how much did u buy this for and how do u like it, i noticed it has 5V preout instead of the 4 in the p700, theirs also a dehP980 but i dont think they sell it in canada

... sorry but the guy that gives service, keeps a product in inventory, pays for shipping, gives free advice, stands by the product, provides a warranty, pays for a store front, is raped and pillaged by the tax laws, and maintains a staff that professionally installs products in your neighborhood is a bargain

These forums provide information most could get at their retail shop
