Kaption Audio ????

I Heard that Kaption Amps have the same internal board/components as a company called Impact Audio... Is This True?

worldind 02-25-2007 08:02 PM

I can't say for sure, since I haven't seen the internals on the kaptions, but if you check on ampguts (at realmofexcursion.com), the Impact model names, numbers and appearance are strikingly similar to kaption's, if not identical... for example, they both make an HC-250.2 with same power ratings, and each have an 80.2 as well.

yes yes yes

i noticed the same thing and today i saw a kaption 80.2 and it was identical to the impact car audio one on ampguts... are they any good as amps and would you recommend buying one to runmids and tweets ate not...

worldind 02-25-2007 08:26 PM

I have no idea... I've never tried Kaption stuff but I know a few people on the forum own it or have in the past.

willcann 02-26-2007 05:30 PM

well i like my kaption subs, but im not big on there amps,

blue collar 02-26-2007 10:32 PM

i had a hc 250.2 and 3 spl 1200s in the gfs car,...biggest waste of money ever...the amp blew no matter what subs were hooked to it and for the money ther subs are dispointing

Strange that I know of a Mike Neufeld or two from the Lower Mainland area. :ohwell:

I thought Kaption was okay, but that's only from a component set I saw in use. There's a dealer out here in Chilliwack that carries them. Screw the 80.2, the HC250.2 looks hot for a set of components. :D

So......blue collar, you say you had three spl 1200's? Dual 2? Dual 4? Any question that they may have been wired to a final impedance lower than 2 ohm mono? 3 subs is an oddball setup for that amp. Just wanting to make sure you have a safe final impedance on that problematic system of yours.

man i have no idea it was in the gfs car...her fiancee wired it all and ran it lol...he got it back when she left him but i hooked up just two to that amp and it still sucked..then i ran one of those subs in my car with a 100o rms and still wasnt impressed...:smokin: lol yes she had a fiancee and she left him for me ...hard to believe lol

^^Now that's a qualified negative opinion. ;):smilie_da
