Kaption CL series.

Anyone have any opinions on them? Anyone own one of these guys? :dunno:

I was thinking of buying a pair of 12's. I know they are pretty loud, there is a guy with a Civic that has two of them in a Kaption box running off of a Kaption 700rms D amp.

I have an 800rms amp and they are 300rms and 600 peak each. Should be more than enough amp for them.

Anyone??? :dunno:

i have a d-700.1 great amp. the cl series are a solid sub, good bang for the buck. i was gonna get a pair of 12`s in cl series box, but i feel that they are an entry level sub.

i looked at the spl series which was more of what i needed, but i had trouble finding a pair of dvc 4ohm, and they were not in my price range. so i settled on a pair of max calibers.

not to turn this into another don`t get these subs get my brand, just be carefull with their prices.

That's the same damn way I feel right now. :thumbsdow

I don't know why. But they feel like entry-level, and the SPL's, well they are out of my price range too lol. I know for a fact the CL's slam...

:dunno: Not sure what to do. I have an Alpine Type R right now, but I am not too pleased with it. I had some venting issues that NEEDED to be taken care of, and have been, but now I have lost the bass. The box sucks... I would make/buy a different one, but my plans are to eventually move up to 2 12's, so there would be no point.

Hence, bringing me to wanting to trade the sub/box in on the CL's in the Kaption box plus some money.

My "budget" stereo is getting more and more stretched out since I first started hahahaha.

there is nothing wrong with those cl`s. if a sub slams.....it slams whether or not what brand it is. don`t get too hung up with model #s. every car has its own different "acoustic-ness" those cl`s might sound like in my car, and pound hard in yours.

there are so many things to consider when spending your hard earned money on gear. best thing to do is research your system. try to make your ears and wallet happy at the same time. i found that if you don`t have the cash to buy what you want, just save it up till you do. if you settle on cheaper gear than later on down the road you want to upgrade you spend more in the long run. i speak from experience.

hope this helps?

Yeah... I learned the hard way this time. Spent all my money lol. :ohwell:

I didn't neccessarily spend it on cheaper gear. It was kind of a toss up between the two. :dunno: lol

What I should have done in the first place was SAVE! SAVE YOUR MONEY! I would have had more options open to me. Now I don't know what to do... I think I will end up going with those CL's.

I had the idea of having two Type R's later on. But lately I have been discouraged, although I am 99% sure it is the box. The box is only 1.5 cubes, and has two 6 inch long 4 inch ports (it was the only box available in my price range at the time so I had to make due, and it sounded good once it was broken in, except with just the one 3in. port, it wasn't enough air for the sub, therefore it was choking and getting hot too quickly). Now that I got the port changed to the two 4in. it gets the air it needs, but I lost the bass response it had.

Maybe I should see how much more I'd have to pay for them to give me another R and build me a box? Or make my own? :dunno:

The reason I didn't save my money as long as I should have, was because I waited long and got sick of waiting... :eyes:

lol, i`m the same way.

if you want to get another type r and build a box, you`ll proll need a bigger amp. the type r`s are a good sub and hit hard.

what are the specs on that sub and your amp?

Cl Kaption subs are very good. We sell these subs all the time and they hit really hard.

how much do you sell each CL Series sub for? just curious, is there a link with the price and everything?
