Angry Kenwood amp problem

I had a Sony XM-1252GTR amp running in my car and it worked fine. Today I bought a Kenwood KAC-9102D, hooked it up... and nothing. The Power and Ground at the amp were getting 13ish Volts, but the sub wasn't receiving any power. I hooked the Sony amp back up and it instantly worked....hooked the Kenwood up again... nothing. Everything was properly hooked up so I have no idea what the problem could be. I heard the amp running in the car of the guy I bought it off, so the amp is fine. I'm getting frustrated, any help you can give me would be appreciated.

Also, I have checked the manual's trouble-shooting guide and it lists nothing of this nature.

When you connect the amp is there power within the amp, meaning any lights on indicating that it is powered up?
