Kenwood Vs Pioneer double Din GPS/BT

Hi, I have a Bose equipped onStar GM with factory double din that needs to go. I don't like XM so going to switch to Sirius as well. I am looking at two Kenwoods DNX6140 & 9140 vs Pioneer Avic-x910BT & Avic-Z110BT.

In order of need:
adapter to use my factory Bose system speakers/amps (was told 2 ohm)
I-phone Bluetooth hookup
GPS NAV
steering wheel controls (built in factory) (was told Pac-Audio has for both)
Easy MP3 playing option (told that Pioneer has SD card slot) over Iphone cable

Any brand comments or things to watch out for?

Thanks!

I have the Pioneer AVIC-F700BT and i love it. Does all the above and priced matched at future shop for $529+tax a few months ago from newegg.ca. Cant beat it for the price if you dont want DVD playback

Short list the Eclipse AVN726E as well. I will start looking at some packages for you.

I don't see Sirius radio on it's list though :(

It will do Sirius and XM. You just need to by the corrisponding module. Hell i am thinking you can do both at the same time if you really wanna be baller! hah

While the price on it is good, that series from Pioneer was also one of the worst ones they ever produced.

I beg to differ i bit. With the new 3.0 upgrade ALL of its short comings had been corrected. The sounds it good. The ipod control is fast. The bluetooth cellphone connection is clear and responsive. The touchscreen is no longer laggy and innacurate.

I was litterally going to get up from my computer desk and return the unit before i read the about the 2.0 upgrade. I said screw it and upgraded. It improved enough for me to keep it. I waited it out for the 3.0 upgrade and jebus i am glad i didnt take it back. Its an entire different unit. FYI i am running an EXACT image of the x910 software. It came from a x910 image of the flash HD.

Out of the box i agree. Its garbage. But with the updates and a few mods it cant be beat for the price. I do understand that the 700bt has been replaced with a new model but at any rate i would stick with the pioneer. The mod following is huge! The modders are inches from being about to execute WINCE programs through the AVIC dashboard. Which means WIFI and WIFI/3G router support. mmmmmmm

If the unit was so good, Pioneer would not have dropped production on it and brought the new line to market early.... While it may indeed work fine for you, the known issues with them might not be what everyone else is looking for. That said again, it is a good deal, but if it is not the right deal for you, then pass on it.

go to avic411.com and search the issues section, that will make up your mind for you.
