i have saw a couple posts that say kenwoods will start skipping after about 1 year of use? is this true if so would the excelon KDC-X579 skip after awhile

Whatever deck you decide on, I would get at least one year warranty coverage on top of the mnaufacturer's coverage, always a good plan, imo. Not sure about the Kenwood, maybe a dealer could answer that one.....

I bought a used kenwood from a friend after he got in an accident (he had bought it a year prior, I used it for a year and then sold it to a guy in my class who has been in an accident with it and it is four years old now and still runs great never a problem with it.

I have a KDC 216S Kenwood, lower model line deck. It started skipping after a year, but of course it would, it only skips when i hit a big pothole. Otherwise, it works like a charm.

My Kenwood just past it's 1 year birthday and it has never skipped on me.

I have an KDC-X869 that's only about nine months old; it has never skipped. [img]smile.gif[/img]

all cd players will begin to skip over time
lasers deterorate and no longer read as well as they used to
from what i have seen all of them do it over time
i have had customers complain of skipping only to find that the unit is not securly mounted

I have a KDC 217s works great no problems with it at all, I have only had it skip once and that was after hitting a huge pot hole goin about 60 km/h lol
