Kicker 300.4, 12"Eclipse Sw6123
#1
My buddy went out yesterday bought the above mentioned, and sounds nice.. I looked on Eclipse website to find out the wiring options for the subs but couldn't find it, his subs are Dual 4ohm subs, when we got them from the store they where both in a box and wired to 4ohm load, if I am correct which 90% time I am not, would this mean each sub was running at 8ohm, then wired to get the 4ohm? and if so how do we wire the subs to give us the 2ohm? I wasn't sure if all DVC subs followed the wiring options so I'd rather check before screwing it up..., my 2nd question with the Kicker 300.4, it's obviously a 4 chanel can it bridge across channels? so your running just 1 channel like the L+ on channel A to right - on channel B? or however the setup would be? and if we are running them at 8ohm to each bridge left/right , would that seen as jsut 8ohm or considerd 4ohm stereo? not sure on that....
Thanks

The subs will be wired in either a parallel / series or series / parallel arrangement. This means that each sub will be either wired to 2 or 8 ohms and then wired together back to 4 ohm mono. Now you can wire each sub to 2 ohm but they will not combine to run 2 ohm. Leave them as they are. 2 ohm in stereo = 4 ohm in bridged mono.
I am not a Kicker dealer but I would think that yes the amp will bridge across the channels. It is usually accomplished by one channels + and the corresponding channels -. Note that you will only be able to use 1/2 of the channels on this amp, the other side of the amp will be used say for the front speakers. All in all this is the wrong amp to power these subs.

amp manual in pdf form
K, there's essentially 2 amps in that chassis .amp 1 and amp 2 each has a left and right channel
you can bridge the left and right channels of each amp to turn it into a 2 channel amp
so you use the left + and right - terminal on the bridged amp
the owners manual also states that that amp is 2 ohm stereo stable and 4 ohm mono stable so you will need to wire each sub to 8 ohms and then run one off each bridged amp
or wire the whole batch to 4 ohms and run them off one amp and use the other amp's channels for the front stage

Thanks for the responses guys .....
I checked out the manual on sunday for Kicker Amp bt since I couldn't find what I wanted, I figured I would ask since some amps 'technically" can do somethings they state they can't!
Thanks!
