Kicker Solo X 18"

I got a 04 navigator and i was thinking of taking out the 3rd row and putting in two 18" kicker solo x's. Do you guys think dese subs are good if not tell me what you think of my idea.

Thanks

I hope you have alot of money to spend on your electrical system and wire and amps:) other then that I like solo x's no matter what people say, but IMO just go with one 12" solo x you wont be disappointed

MadGreen 10-12-2007 12:28 PM

2 18's.......sweet :smilie_da
should be able to crack a windshield.
but dont be cheap on power cables.and add a few dry cell battery's to keep up the volts.

Minki 10-12-2007 02:34 PM

Ya i already talk to dis one guy and i asked him if i needed 0 gauge wiring hes lik you need somethin less den 0 so he showed me 2 WATT wiring. Hes like you need dis push those kickers

FusionMadsen 10-12-2007 03:42 PM

I wouldn't. You will be looking for 20,000w, which is ridiculous.

Look into 18" Fi BTL's, they are 2500w each subs, and they pound pretty damn good.

cav2nv420 10-12-2007 06:08 PM

dont listen to fusion he has a hate on for kicker especially solo x's, he NEVER has anything good to say about them, only thing I have to say is dont do 2 18" solo x's that is all

FusionMadsen 10-12-2007 07:50 PM

I don't hate kicker, just solo x's. I'm lost, why shouldn't he get solo x's now cav?

cav2nv420 10-12-2007 07:55 PM

no I meant dont get 2 18"s just do one 12" solo im sure that will be plenty of bass for what he wants, comsidering all the stuff he will need to make 2 18's work and two 2500.1's

FusionMadsen 10-12-2007 08:14 PM

More like 4 2500.1's.

12" Solo X's are like 2500w rms, get what you can afford and is not ridiculous to power. Getting 18" solo x's and giving them a quarter of there recommended power is just stupid.

What difference does it make how good the subs are?

Personally I wouldn't even get in a vehicle with factory mids and highs and 10-20KW of bass. I'm sure there are people out there who would think it was "cool" but it would sound like poo as far as I'm concerned.

If you've got a nice ride like that, either take some time to learn more about mobile audio or take the $10K it will cost to put in the Solos to a good shop and get a real system.

2 18" Solo X's is just nuts buttt i guess since its for a NAVI sure, but make sure u got the money to power them, that is gonna be some crazy asss bass good luck

Prolifik 10-16-2007 07:13 PM

u could probably be louder with 3 10's

Toddyboy 10-16-2007 07:33 PM

I'd say do one solo x 18 and put the extra money in to a really strong front stage

I'm just kidding around but still salt in the wounds Eh?:)

FarmerSteve 02-13-2009 09:17 AM

I'm running 2 18" kicker solo x's in my van with about 2500 watts on each one and they are doing just fine. I've used 1/0 kicker power kit for wiring and 2 kinetiks HC2000 batteries with a 200 amp alternator for the amps. I can crank the system full out and i don't even have so much as a headlight dim and its loud as hell!! KICKER for life!!
