your thinking DC watts...the amp would produce AC watts.

As my electrical professor used to say: A watt is a watt is a watt.

Technically the definition of a watt is the rate of energy conversion of one joule per second.

As it pertains to audio Power (watts) = (Voltage*Voltage) / Resistance or Amperage*Amperage*Resistance

I think he was really trying to point out the effeciency of the amp switching from DC to AC ?
