Kicker ZX1500.1 VS MMATS 2100.2

[quote=t money;672793]well the Matts amp is 1550 watts rms at 13.8 volts, therefore you're not getting more power to your subwoofer. Perhaps the kicker is more underrated and thats why you hear a difference. the kciker's bass boost should be off as well.[/quote/]
Not trying to be a smart azz, I am asking because I dont know but why would you turn the bass boost off? I am sure they put it there so it can be used, if not why would it have a bass boost and a remote.
It is a DVC 1ohm, I have it ran in series to a 2ohm load.

A lot of amp manufacturers put a bass boost on the amp. All it does is boost a frequency. It's basically a eq for one frequency but it ony boots and doesn't cut. The reason you don't want to use it is it can/will cause your amp to clip sooner. Any competitor for SPL turns the bass boost off. if your bass isn't loud enough with the bass boost off perhaps you need a bigger amp. You only boost a frequency when your sytem lacks it, thats what eq's are used for. I have never used my bass boost on my zx1500.1 and my system was loud

Don't confuse the bass boost on the amp with the remote bass **** that comes with the amp. The remote bass **** is basically a gain control that you can adjust in the front of your vehicle. It doesn't boosts any signals, it just adjusts the gain remotely. I love remote bass ***** as it gives great control over your bass output especially when you play a crappy recorded cd and then a good recorded cd
