Lanzar Quality Amps/Caps?

I am in need of a capacitor and was looking at getting either a Stinge 1 Farad or a Lanzar 5 Farad. Is Lanzar a quality company or is it likely to go down the crapper after a bit. Also there 4 channel amps if they are any good, for 150 bucks i can get one off ebay. Are they worth it?

Brad-S.A. 12-31-2006 04:46 PM

The only Lanzar amps that are worth getting is the Heritage, Opti and Vibe the Viberant are crap. As for caps the Lanzar cap is just as good as anything else pretty much.

What makes you think you need a cap?

Hardwrkr 12-31-2006 06:39 PM

At this point it might be worth it for you to skip the cap and put the extra money into your amp budget.

The Lanzar Opti series amps are great performers and really the only one's I'd opt for from the Lanzar catalogue.

I need a good 4 channel amp for 250 bucks or so what is my best amp for my budget?

Brad-S.A. 12-31-2006 07:01 PM

You have a PM. At around $250 for a new 4 channel you will be looking at more of a main stream amp. Like a Pioneer, Clarion, JBL, Kenwood sort of price range. Some of the bigger, higher quality, more potent amps are going to run you more after shipping and taxes and so on. Some other ideas is to check the For Sale section here. Also never shy away from and older well built amp in nice shape. Some of the older PPI, PG ect. are nice buys.

Here bro you want a killer amp

http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/onli...-amp-12-a.html

This is a smoking little deal and the seller is a friend of a guy I deal with on a regular basis so should be all good.

Killer_klown187 12-31-2006 07:16 PM

Yes Mao is a great guy to deal with!!! thumbs up!!

Infinity 7541a is a nice big 4ch amp and a good performer that can be had for less than $250 on Ebay everyday.

Caps do not create power, they store and use it. A cap will not solve your issues with your lights dimming. If you want some more pertinent info on this, drop me a pm.

A lanzar cap is as good as anyone elses 1 or 5 farad cap

Are they worth it.. not usually but sometimes. They do add a sporty look to your install, and that is what they do best.

frankly you would be better served by raising your idle speed

i'm pretty sure this has been discussed here b4....can't seem to fine the thread, however what is the main purpose of a cap....

MR2NR 01-05-2007 12:38 AM

It depends on if there is chrome on it and the brand name printed on the front.

well, it's supposed to supply extra energy on peak transients, and store energy when the music is less demanding...for when it's needed. this is supposed to reduce the draw on your electrical system, and help prevent your lights from dimming etc...Some swear by them, others swear at them. I don't use one myself, but if you find benefit in it...it's your money...go for it!!
Personally, I would save the money and put it towards a high output alternator, a bigger battery, or the big three...that's what i did!

I love my Lanzar OPTI2000D and OPTI1532D. Enormous power. Just take a look at the on-board fusing (6 x 30)...and the OPTI1532D just eats all that power and begs for more...
