what the hell does it matter what he does, maybe he sells real estate, they make alot of money in bc right now if they are good, maybe he's a successful private business owner, maybe his/her parents are loaded, maybe he assumed debt to get his system. if the guy was full of cash he wouldnt be looking for future upgrades like tim said, sorry if i sound defensive but i get alot of the "he must be a drug dealer" and so on and it gets tiring to hear. there is a ton of legit cash and non legit cash in bc, who gives a **** and mind your won business and enjoy the sweet pics of a nice looking system

I don't care what the client does for a living. He obviously knew what he was getting into...3 months isn't that long a time. Sometimes people hit road blocks in a system where they have to figure out how to do something, or they are waiting on parts.
I couldn't care less how much it costs, I just like Tim's work.
If I was rich, I'd spend money and time to learn how to do this stuff myself. But that's just me.
What's your next project Tim?

If it is that important and I know a few people that are always ***'s about this cause they are jealous that people can spend this kinda money and they can't................ the guy was in a accident years ago and has spent the last several years having his body rebuilt and now has some money via his insurance settlement and this was his gift to himself.............................
Happy ?

Just like people who see these beautiful installs like to see how they are built, they also like to 'know' who the people owning them are. Systems like that don't come along everyday and not everybody can afford them. So there's nothing wrong with being curious how something like that is afforded or how much it costs. I'm also curious how people with successful business started up initially and created customer base, etc.
Okay, so it's been established that the owner had an unfortunate incident happen and can afford this due to an insurance settlement (entirely plausible). What range would this install cost, say for all equipment and labor? 10-15k? 15-20? 20-25? There is no dishonor in saying what it cost, or a range if you don't want to be specific. Again, people are curious as to what something big like this goes for. We know what simple items cost for installation, like a sub box, or an amp, or a deck and two but how about the full-boogie installs like this?

Jeebus...
Take 30 seconds and do the math. Let's assume that out of the three months, work was done on the project 5 days out of the week, 4 weeks a month, so that's 60 days. Now let's assume 8 hours a day were spent working on the car; 480 hours. Finally, let's assume that shop labour is around $50/hr - could be more, could be less depending on shop, but on average $50/hr is reasonable. Multiply that by the 480 hours, and you get $24,000 in labour alone. I wont try to guess the cost of materials, but it's probably a significant figure, as well as the price of equipment. I'd guess it's probably a $35,000 install on paper, but actual price depends on a lot of things. Not all shops will charge strictly by the hour, because people shouldn't have to pay for resin cure time and stupid crap like that, but I guess that's at the discretion of the installer(s). Chances are the customer got some deals on equipment, or anything for that matter... But yah, I'm throwing 25-35k out there as a guesstimate.

Holy ****!
I never had any serious intent when I asked if this install was for a rock star! People are reading WAY too far into it and I really did not want to know what the customer did for a living or how he got his money.
The freaking car looks like a rock star would be driving it, that was all I meant!
Is there a great big chip on some peoples shoulders, or did I miss something along the way?
It's still a beautiful install, and I meant nothing else Tim.
