Light on Remote Bass Control

I hate for my first post to be something this noobish, but part of who I am is having to know why something does what it does.

I recently installed a Jensen power 900, the remote bass control has a green light on it. This light turns red when the amp is running at a decent volume. The harder the amp works, the more red there is in the light. (or seems to)

What does the light indicate? Does it mean the amp is starting to clip when the light starts to show red? or is it only clipping when the light is fully red? Maybe it is just for show, and means nothing in particular?

Anything in the manual? If there's no mention of it, it probably has no function other than to tell you it's on. If it progressively reddens, maybe a clipping indicator or temp warning. If you can't find anything, call Jensen or the dealer.

Nothing about the light in the manual. I just asked on the jensen site, I will let you guys know when I get an answer.

I don't think it is a temp warning as it does it when I just turn it on and crank up the volume. It does go pure red, no green, when it goes into thermal protect tho. (I found that out the hard way):o

clipping indicator seems most likely to me, but I don;t know how to interpret it as there is 'grey' area in there when it is green and red at the same time.

The light is indicating that you need a new amp
