Always making lists... anyways..
What vehicles out there won't let you change the stock head unit... for whatever reason?
So far I have thought of the Nissan Murano and currently the Subaru B9 Tribeca. There's got to be more than that?
Also, what about cars with steering wheel audio controls - any you can't make work again? I'm thinking Nissan again, what else?

It is possible to replace the deck on a Murano - but it isnt easy or pleasant.
It involves cutting the circuit board in half, etc etc - I'm sure someone else will let you know what has to be done, but it can indeed be done !!

Surprised that the 06 Civic wasnt mentioned first.
Good thread to post. We better start changing the way we integrate into the OEM or the industry is going to dive within a few year!
As far as the Mazda 6, I own one and I maintained the OEM head unit. Only the enthusiast will pay over 200 dollars for a kit when he installs a $400 deck. Seems silly to me when factory decks sound perfectly fine
