Loading Diown subs.
Say one has 6 8ohm svc subs and he loads them down, what will be the final load? Parallel or series?
Do the same for 10 8ohm svc subs as well.:smokin: Let's see everyone's answers. |
when you say 8" do you mean 8ohm?
The North American keyboard equivalent of ohm is W 6 8Ω speakers in series is 48Ω in parallel it's 1.33Ω 10 8Ω speakers in series is 80Ω in parallel it's 0.80Ω Unless I'm misunderstanding your question. |
sorry, 8 ohms svc subs
|
If i want an ending load of 4ohms or close to it, how many subs would I use and how would it be done? If at all it is possible?
|
I can get close, let me do the math and I'll draw up a sketch
|
6 8Ω speakers
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/800458/Explan.jpg ~5Ω total load. For 10 speakers it's the same idea, but instead of 3 parallel in each group, you have 5. Total load ends up being 3.2Ω Best case would be to use 8 speakers in this configuration, with groups of 4. Total load is 4Ω |
