Question Looking for an advice on future set up (Alpine?)

Hey all, I'm new to this board, and looking for an advice.

So far I have a 2009 Lancer with Alpine W505 head, and 2 x MTX 10" subs with an MTX amp but still running stock speakers, they sound okay but after the volume goes over 50% they start to choke.

I recently installed Imprint module which unlocked eq and some audio enchancements, sounds much better, but this thing just made me go even more crazy about sound clarity at higher volumes.
So here is what I'm thinking of doing:
While the door panels are off doors will be soundproofed with a layer of "fatmat"

And the set up itself will consist of

AMP:
Alpine MRP-F300 which is a 4 channel and is able to produce 50W RMS per channel (I'm somewhat informed about car audio, but not in depth so maybe if there is a better option at the same price $230 please advice)

Speakers:

Front Doors: Alpine SPX-17REF 6 1/2" component speakers, they run at 75W RMS max (which raises a question: Is it bad when speaker is underpowered? In my case 50W feeding 75W speaker)

Back Doors: Alpine SPR-17C 6 1/2" speakers with 100RMS capacity which again are a bit powerfull for the amp I plan to use.

I know it might be a really unbalanced set up that I came up with, please advice of what can be changed here.

Thanks a lot for any info that you can provide for me, will greatly help me out.

If you were originally just running your mid range off the deck, that would make sense why they are choking at 50%. THe power wont be very controlled and clean compared to running off an amp. Plus the fact that since your head unit is not stock, it's probably running at 4ohms and most stock speaker are at 8omhs so you never do fully power the speaker anyways.

But, its not bad at all to underpower a speaker, less chance of damage that's all. Most of the alpine amps are underrated anyways. They usually come with a test sheet stating what they really put out. Probably more around 60w a channel but maybe less.

Just watch your gains on the amp, your rears being 100w rms can handle a litte more than your 75w rms fronts. plus a full blasted tweeter can get annoying after a while. YOu should be good to go with that set up, a higher powered amp thats cheaper isn't allways a good deal if you end up sacrificing quality of signal.
I have allways been a big fan of alpine and run a full alpine PDX setup pushing 1600w on all type r fronts/mids and a type r 15 sub. There is a reason they have been around as a top runner for a long time, they sound good.
