You have so many options to choose from that you will not know what to do with them. Many people may have their opinions on what is best based on their use or their friends use. Other people who have been around will have a far larger base from which to make their recommendations from. Before anyone can recommend something to you, you need to determine what your goals are. Make a game plan and stick to it. Throw the amp out the window at this point in time. Your choice of sub(s) will help to determine what amp you need for the application. The choice of sub also needs to fit the requirements of the vehicle and the box that needs to be built for them. Are you after something that is just stupid loud or are you after something that you can actually listen to that will as a side note, play to a highly respectable output level. While a "loud" system is kinda neat and you can be the loudest around, you will never recover damaged hearing and you will never hear the music as it was meant to be listened to.

A SQ (sound quality) based system is one that is radically different in design as compared to a SPL (sound pressure level) based system. What kind of system based on that are you after. Next we need to know what the vehicle is that these subs are going to call home. Is there a system in there that will be used or is it being replaced? Lots of questions to be asked in order to build you a highly predictable outcome rather than buying something because you heard it was "the best" and then be disappointed with the results.

What about the 18" SoloX. Holy lord does that thing look impressive. I have never listened to any SoloX but I am guessing they would be stupid loud.

Ya Im with MR2NR here on this one. You mention the best and then three brands and there are so many companies that make a sub just as good and if not better then the ones you have mentioned for a fraction of the price. Im not saying they are not good just the "best" is not measured by a name or a price. It should be the best that suits your needs and wants.

okay well i was gonna go threw a local dealer and they sell jl audio and alpine im running typr r right now there not to bad but i wanna go louder and i keep hear good things about jl audio w7's so i was gonna give it a shot ....then i was reading jl w7's are only 750 rms watts each and type x's are 1000 rms each but then again if there was a more powerful sub i might go that route hope this helps you to figure what i might wanan do thx.
