I know the feeling, everything looks great until I realize the window has to be able to go up and down . I think I have a total of 2" of depth in the EL, not very accomodating to beefy midbass drivers.

All you have to do is make some baffles to act as spacers. Make them out of MDF. I used 1" MDF to make spacers for my 2000 Z24.

Yeah, I'm sure I could shoehorn them in with a little elbow grease and some MDF Anything is possible.

I actually owned a set of infinity reference 6.5's a couple of years ago I had to cut out all of the plastic in the back of the speaker pod, but they did fit.

I remember the guy at futureshop: "There is no way in hell you are getting those drivers in your doors"

Right now, I'm going to stick with kick panels only, maybe down the road i'll consider some midbass drivers to complement them in the doors. The IDQ6's and ID CS6's I like are quite beefy though, over 3" in depth I believe.

Dukk: If it wasnt for windows, I'd have some 8" subs in my doors for sure! Good thing I have A/C
