Making video dvd's for alpine head units

So...i dunno if it's possible, but hoping someone can tell me. I'd like to put some video's on some of my dvd's. Id hope i could mix em in with music and it'd be smart enoguh to figure it out, but no luck yet.

So far, i tried adding an avi and an mpeg file onto my music dvd, but it didn't even acknowledge them as being there.

Any ideea whats required or if it's possible??

it's an Alpine IVA-W200

Use Window's Movie Maker to edit your video's. This is a pretty strong program that allows you to edit the video and audio, and add cool transitions etc. After this save your video to a new file, and use a program like Nero or Sonic to create a DVD using the .mpeg or .avi files you created in WMM. You should be able to create your own title menu's and stuff to customize your dvd's. Nero or Sonic will then convert the audio and video to NTCS compatible files. So the finished product will be basicly a regular DVD that should be recognizable in any DVD player. Or you could just trade in your Alpine for a Kenwood which recognize .mpeg video, like mine.... :D

Good Luck!

hmmm apart from that kenwood portion heh, good call. I'm try'n nero with nero vision. Only it's not really allowing me to create a title page for the dvd like another software i used did. I think sonic my dvd or whatever allowed you to do this better, but i did throw some stuff on there including a slideshow full of pics from a party with some muisc....we'll see if it all works out or not, could be rather intense!!!

now to make sonic software appear on my PC again.

made the icons a lil small, mysteriously thought they'd get bigger but oh well, works on the home dvd player.

Included 5 music videos, 1 slide show of party pics and 2 porn clips for good measure.

The main screen has metallica - fuel playin in the background. The slide show has haddaway - what is love.

I did end up using nero vision to create it, but turns out you gotta finalize a disc for my dvd player to play it. Took frickin 48 minutes to burn and code though.

I'm thinkin, a slideshow full of party pics playing on the big screen would be mint for the next party we have. Just gotta get a whole wack more of party pics, i only have about 40 from the most recent party. All in all, it's a solid venue of interest for anyone that wanders downstairs no?
