a local shop is having a little sound comp tomorrow afternoon, i never got metered before so i might really not do very good but if i get the guts i just might enter! it's not hitting or sounding how i want it to but i may enter just for the hell of it. i might get up tomorrow and put some test tones together and a few bass tracks.. see what the ol' system can do. i've heard local guys' systems and quite a few are alot louder than mine... but either way at least i'll know where i fall in the SPL category right? anyways, i'm contemplating and kinda bored so i figured i'd post anwyay.. I was just in Sydney a couple days ago. Too bad I missed this so I could see what you East Coast folks run.
Good luck in the show and maybe try to get a couple runs on the meter before hand if possible. Should help you with a few dB finding yuor note and best box placement. |
Enter, talk, associate...the best way to learn is to ask for help, that's how I started.

ended up competing... got 2nd in my class, with a peak spl of 135.6dB on the TermLab. had alot of fun, i am going to have a new box built by next summer tho, some guys with smaller amps than mine and with like 2 10's were beatin me gettin like 138's and such.. with the 350RMS kenwood's so the problem must be with my enclosure..
either way, ended up going and had alot of fun! |
