Your amp is only going to put out as much power as it can with what the Car's electrical system is able to give it. a 3000W amp isn't going to put out 3000 watts with 8 AWG because it isn't getting the Amps it needs; it will put out considerably less...

Yes, I realize that...It just came across awkwardly in that post. The wire melting part really had nothing to do with the blurb on voltage drop. I just wanted to clarify that using a marginally small wire in an install is not going to cause the wire to melt, nor is that the reason somebody will use 4awg instead of 8awg (in most situations)
