Memphis Amplifiers.

Ok, so I decided that I want Memphis amplifiers to power my system. Now I just can't decide on what to get from them. At first I wanted to get there MCH600 5-channel amp to power my entire system but then I decided that wasn't going to be enough power if I decided to upgrade my speakers/subwoofers later on. So I decided on getting the better MCH1300 5-channel amp. Then I thought to myself, what if something goes wrong on the amp? My entire system will go down and I will have to replace the entire thing.

So heres my thoughts.

I was thinking I should break up the MCH1300 and just get its comparable 4-channel amp (MCA3004) and 1-channel amp (MCD1000).

What do you guys think about this? Good idea? Waste of money?

Also if you think its a good idea. Should I go with the MCD1000 or the PR1.1000. They both appear to have the same specs, just one is fan cooled.

If it was me, i would go the single amp route...neater, cheaper, and still offers more than enough performance for daily listening. Those are very good amps by the way, i wouln't worry about break downs too much. 5ch amps are for people who won't be upgrading too much in the future though, so if you're a person that's always looking to upgrade or try new things, and add more subs etc... then you may want to go the separate amp route. If it's a do it, forget about it, and just enjoy it system, then go for the 5ch.

I too would go the single amp route. Way cleaner install, less wiring (means less money on wiring), less chance of noise, less space wasted.

I'm using two of the Belle's in my car. Never had a problem.

memphis.

I happen to have a 3004 and a 1500d. I went this route instead of the bell just because I wanted more power at two ohms. If it make no difference to you then by all means get the bell. And the Power of these amps is underrated my 1500d has 1784 rms according to the birth sheet, and my 3004 is around the 85-90 range. Yes one amp makes for a easier install but i say "if ya got room for one ya got room for two". I highly recommend doing the big three,if you get both amps.
Love the product and love the sound quality.

Alright thanks guys, I think ill just stick with the single MCH1300.

Has anyone ever purchased an amp from an unauthorized internet dealer? I was thinking of doing this because its a lot cheaper. I don't see how the amp could be any different from a authorized retailer except for the warranty. Any thoughts?

I have run Memphis products for many years and have never had a problem with them, they are a great product. As far as the unauthorized dealer, you won't get a Memphis factory warranty, you will only get what the site gives you. Memphis has a great warranty plan, if I were you I would pay the extra just to get the warranty.

I am afraid of something going terribly wrong and wasting my money so yeah the warranty just makes a whole lot of sense.

Thanks for the help guys.

EDIT: I can't find any authorized dealers in Ontario. Anyone know of an authorized dealer in Ontario or on this forum?

Bianco's in Sudbury. And I'm pretty sure there is one in Barrie, and also one on Steele's in Toronto. I'm sorry that I can't remember the names of the places.
