^ What? The guy asked a legitamate question. Did you not understand it?

I'm no expert but generally pro-sound subs are efficient at getting loud but not usually at really low frequencies. Almost like heavy-duty midbass. They can usually play upto midrange frequencies too, so useable say from around 50-1000 Hz. Generally they are limited in excursion (x-max), can handle fairly high power levels for long periods of time (decent size voicecoils) and have stiff suspensions on them (surround and spider). They rely a fair bit on the enclosure to make them even louder (horn-loaded or big ported boxes).

If you're doing a pro sudio system in a home or bar, get a pro audio woofer. If you're building a car audio system, get a car audio woofer. Plain and simple.

Not much more I can say.

one other thing is alot of pro audio speakers will not be sutible for a car as they are not made to deal with the weather changes in your car.

Sux is right on the money... it's the differnece between a woofer, and a subwoofer... subwoofers play much lower down on the freq. range that woofers do. you see them in clubs, and bars all the time, where they are able to have a huge cabinet, and quite a large horn to take care of the highs...
