mistake

mistake

Hi im new to this forum and car audio.I just bought a headunit and i cut off the factory harness. Can i attach it back because i left some wire on the harness.So can i?

As long as there is enough wire there to reconnect, you'll be fine. I would solder the connections as well and I like to shrink wrap the wires with shrink tube, but electrical tape will work fine. In future, spending the extra coin for a wiring harness will save you time and a whole lot of effort... Especially if you need to return it to factory

dont use electrical tape only! it will unravel just as soon as it gets hot out or in for that matter.. heat shrink all the solder joints and you will be almost factory! if you want factory just put molex crimp connectors on the ends of the wires and replace the wires in the connector one at a time with the newly crimped ones. 100% factory look just a little shorter.

If you can take off some of the panels for greater access to the rear, you may be able to pull back the harness and work with a greater length of it, for soldering.
